My Story
Growing up in York, Maine, athletics have always been the center of my life. From doing everything - baseball to soccer to skiing - my focus quickly turned to my newest sport of lacrosse in high school. I knew I wanted to compete at the collegiate level, and with only a couple years of experience and the recruiting window quickly closing, I would need to utilize weightlifting and performance training to increase my odds.

Countless hours training by myself on the field and in the gym taught me the value of relentless commitment, with my increased athletic ability allowing me to excel in my first semester at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. My freshman dreams of starting were cut short by a loud pop in my knee, just weeks before the start of the season.
A fully torn ACL and meniscus – one of the most dreaded injuries in sports. I was told that I would need surgery ASAP, and the recovery would be 10 months or more. Even worse, I was told that most athletes never return to their full capability, dealing with soreness, imbalance, muscle weakness, and mental blocks for the rest of their lives. I was determined to beat that stigma.
The next few months would be among the most difficult of my life physically and, even more so, mentally. My athleticism was baked into the core of my personality for as long as I could remember, and just like that it was stripped away. I sat sidelined, watching my friends enjoy the sport we loved while I was trying to regain the strength in my atrophied leg and learn to walk again.

I committed to the process, spending nearly two hours a day in the training room regaining my strength and mobility in my leg and then another hour or more strengthening the rest of my body in the weight room after. In just three months I became a certified lifeguard and member of ocean rescue, running 5+ miles a day and doing water rescues when most ACL return-to-sport timelines are around 6 months.
My love for the strength and conditioning process only grew throughout my college career, as I could appreciate the mental clarity I got from training in addition to the performance benefits I saw on the field. This lead to my most successful season my senior year, contributing to a CCC title, tallying over 30 goals, and accumulating All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American accolades.

Unfortunately, if you tear an ACL, there is a 1 in 5 chance you will tear the other. In one of the last games of the season, I tore the ACL in my other leg. This time I had experience on my side. Without another season to come back to, I had a more holistic approach to recovery, envisioning the pursuit of my active lifestyle post-college.

Training allowed me to mentally push through a second ACL recovery, and build the habits and body to do the things I love. Along the way I uncovered a passion for helping others find the same balance through fitness - providing friends and family with workout plans and training and diet guidance. I obtained my NASM Personal Training Certification so that I could help people build a sustainable relationship with their health in a more effective and meaningful way.
Through my experience I have learned that the journey to your fitness goals will take grueling patience, but I am here to guide you through incremental changes that will make it obtainable. Whether your obstacles are an overbearing work schedule, an active social life, or simply lack of knowledge in the space, my personalized approach will give you the tools for a sustainable relationship with your health and fitness.
